Data Visualization

I took information design in the fall of my senior year and it was a whole new way of thinking about design. For our final project in the fall we had to find our own data set and create a visualization for that data. I found there is massive data on history of different countries and their Olympic winning records. As I looked at the data for each of these I realized that the top countries of the medal count wins came from rich countries. Whereas smaller countries tended to have smaller populations appeared to have way lower medal counts and total athletes sent to the games. I also thought that it would be interesting to be able to compare two sets of games that happened approximately 20 years a part. This proved to show specifically if you look at China the growth of a nations wealth correlates to the growth of a medal count.
