Its all about the Journey Baby
This project I have chosen to express the concept of a journey. For so many of us this year had been a real journey of self discovery. For me it’s been a more literal journey of moving homes that has really played out in the past few months. The images that stood out the most to me were the images of my labels on cardboard boxes phrases like “half heavy” and “semi-fragile” or “low priority kitchen stuff” feel really true to this project of vernacular. My plan for this project is to use a 36 x 48 card board sheet and create a diagram of my journey. I want it to look and feel like organized chaos because that phrase is true to the experience.
I’ve begun by printing contact sheets of my 1,000 images and my plan is to cut them out and paste them to where they fit on the diorama. This would live as a memento of 2020.
December 7th Progress
Plan for wednesday:
Do something more dramatic! Maybe the lights are off and you are looking through the cardboard into the 2020.
Maybe dress it up/decorate the trash?
Lining the inner walls of the box with significant photos
Re-align the road to come toward the audience
Should I do more stuff in the box??
