Due Sept 16.
Thinking about my manifesto…
The idea of flexibility as a designer has always been something that I have believed in. The designers that I have met that aren’t flexible and able to adapt they are significantly less successful than those who have made the effort to adapt. Being pliable is such an incredible trait to have. Graphic design is sometimes analogized as a muscle that needs constant work and improvement. Thats the angle I would like to take on this project. Make a unique and bold comparison.
So I want to create a video manifesto where I stretch body and relate each part to my philosophy.
malleable = valuable
Feet/legs:
this is your knowledge in Adobe/design programs. (or use of any tools!)
Literally the leg work of your designs.
They take you so far
You can’t get to the finish without them
They are a means to an end
Body/core:
Finding your center
This is where your base of design knowledge lies
Contrast/Figure-ground/Color/Juxtaposition
Strong core is a strong designer
Arms:
Reaching — this is your creativity
We use our arms to stretch and reach new things
An extent-ion of the core
what makes us unique
Hands:
Our biggest asset
they get the jobs done
They move type and image
they execute the details
Eyes:
The windows into the worlds
They observe and analyze
Designer needs one eye for judgement
the other for cataloguing
Head:
Thinking
putting all the parts to use
Coordinating movements and thoughts
Making realities
